The CMD/TANGEDCO has approved implementation of filing Online application for
shifting of meter and Service Connection in HT/LT and Shifting of lines/ structures/
equipments for LT/HT under Deposit Contribution Works (DCW) through TANGEDCO
Web Portal and to automate the processing of applications for shifting of HT/LT
electrical utilities by the TANGEDCO or by other Government Departments under the
direct supervision of TANGEDCO with all functionalities right from receipt of application
including payment of necessary fee.
- As per the TNERC’s Regulation 5(6) of the TNE Supply Code and Regulation 37
of TNE Distribution Code, the cost of shifting of HT/LT services and shifting of lines
/structures/equipments under Deposit Contribution Works for LT/HT shall be borne by
the consumer/applicant. The consumer shall pay the estimate cost of shifting in
advance in full. The shifting work will be taken up by TANGEDCO, only after the
payment is made in full. - In special cases such as road widening works, infrastructure works, etc. carried
out by the Government organizations, the shifting of TANGEDCO utilities would be
undertaken by Government Organizations such as NHAI, National Highways, CMRL,
TNRDC, TNRIDC etc., under the direct supervision of the TANGEDCO by payment of
necessary establishment and supervision charges.
